Managing several producers and brands as a distributor or importer
How one account can handle brands from many producers, who should own which records, and how to move them later.
Importers, distributors and marketers can enter brands on behalf of the producers they work with. One My NYIOOC account can hold several producers, each with its own brands.
How records are organized
Each producer belongs to exactly one account.
Each brand belongs to exactly one producer.
Whoever holds the account sees that producer's brands, entries, shipments, results and notifications.
One purchase for many producers
When you buy entries, you can use them for brands from any of the producers in your account. You don't need a separate order per producer. Your entry credits also work for either hemisphere while that hemisphere's registration is open. See Entry credits: how they work and when they expire.
Who should own the records?
Before you add a producer, agree with them who will manage it.
Situation | Suggested owner |
|---|---|
You handle the entry, shipping and results for the producer | Your account |
The producer wants to see its own results and manage its profile | The producer's own account |
Several distributors sell the same producer's oils | The producer's own account, or one agreed distributor |
Results and notifications
Results, sample notifications and result emails go to the account that owns the producer. If you manage a producer's entries, share their results with them yourself.
Moving a producer later
Only a NYIOOC administrator can move a producer from one account to another. Ask through Support. See Transferring a producer to another account for what moves with it.
Billing stays with the buyer
Orders and invoices stay with the account that paid for them, even if a producer is later moved. Add your company and VAT details once in Billing so they appear on your invoices. See Downloading invoices and adding company or VAT details.
