Adding a brand

Create a brand for each olive oil you want to enter, with its origin, cultivars, description and organic status.

Updated

A brand is one olive oil. You need one brand for each oil you enter. You can add brands at any time, or create them while choosing brands for your entries.

Add a brand

  1. Open Brands and choose to add a brand.

  2. Enter the oil name as it appears on the label.

  3. Choose the producer that makes it.

  4. Choose the country and region of origin.

  5. Choose Blend or Monovarietal, then pick the cultivars. See Cultivars, blends and monovarietal oils.

  6. Write a description of the oil (up to 5,000 characters).

  7. Choose Organic or Not organic. Organic oils need a certificate. See Organic status and organic certificates.

  8. Save.

Names and descriptions are reviewed

New names and descriptions, and later changes to them, are checked by the NYIOOC editors before they're published. Other changes apply immediately. See How editorial review works.

Brand completion

Each brand shows a completion percentage based on its description, oil type, country, region, organic status and name. Retail locations don't count toward it.
