How editorial review works
Why names and descriptions are checked by editors, when it happens, and when they can't be changed.
Producer and brand information is shared with the Official Guide and other NYIOOC publications, so the NYIOOC editors check it before it's published.
What editors review
Producer name and company story
Brand name and description
Editors can also correct a producer's website address. Other details, such as country, region, cultivars and organic status, are not changed by editors.
When review happens
Your information is reviewed when your entry's samples are received at NYIOOC. A result can only be published after the producer and brand information has been approved.
When you change a name or description that's already approved, saving sends the new text for review. The approved text stays in place until the editors accept your change.
Approvals carry over
If your producer and brand information hasn't changed since it was last approved, it doesn't need to be approved again in a new competition year.
